An association exists for anyone interested in Handley Page. Their details are below:
The Handley Page Association (HPA) was formed in 1979 to keep alive the memories of the Handley Page Companies, the Founder and their aircraft, and to foster the spirit of innovation, engineering ingenuity and excellence of construction which were hallmarks of the Companies. The membership of the HPA includes ex-employees of Handley Page, ex-aircrew and operators of HP aircraft, and those with a general interest in aviation history and the preservation of historic aircraft.
The aims of the HPA are: * To keep alive the memories of the HP companies, and to organise social and other events for the members. * To provide a means of communication between members. * To encourage new ideas and developments in the aeronautical field and to promote their application to other disciplines.
The HPA supports aircraft preservation and restoration projects related to HP products. This ranges from extensive archives, to direct involvement by members.
Newsletters are published regularly giving news of people, aircraft and events related to Handley Page and the Association. Other activities include talks, visits, social events (including) a popular "Night of Nostalgia") and we give support to other Handley Page related activities whenever possible.
MEMBERSHIP: Costs £8.00 £6.00 for over 65's £4.00 for under 17's (as of June 2001)
Members receive regular newsletters. Talks, film shows and social events are held about five times a year, and also visits to places of aviation interest are arranged. The HPA is a member of the British Aviation Preservation Council.
